A few weeks ago I wrote a blog post that generated quite a bit of stir and blog comments. It was great to see so many people read the post but to my shock someone had stolen the post within 24 hours and posted it to their blog.

I was honored someone liked my content enough to use it as their own. However, at the same time it was frustrating to see they didn’t leave a back link, credit, ping back, affiliate link or any other type of note that they had lifted this content directly from my website.

I could have reached out to the person and asked them to remove the post or to put some sort of credit on the post. However, I am not here to start wars and I would rather focus on creating more content than worrying about chasing after a few people.

The real lesson I learned from this example was how important it was for my website to have a near instant indexing solution. WordPress sites can naturally index in a few days if they have decent authority, but what about lower authority WP sites, new WP sites and is a few days really good enough?

If you’re like me then as soon as you write a new blog post you like to let the world know about it. You send out the information to Facebook or maybe even to an email list of your followers and there is nothing wrong with that.

However, what has been happening to me could easily be happening to your website. Is the content you are working hard on really counting as your own in Google’s eyes? Or is the person who lifted your content being indexed before you?

If you post content to your website you need to be sure it’s counting as your own. That Google knows where this content was first published and that it finds the content on your website before it finds it on someone else’s.

This may sound scary but it can be really simple. You just need to ensure you have a near instant indexing solution. I recommend using the new Ping Kaching WordPress plugin which will ensure your posts are being indexed in 4 hours or less. To learn more about how to properly set up your WordPress site for fast indexing times you can read a blog post I wrote about it here.

Ping Kaching WordPress Plugin

Additionally, for the people out there like me, the WP plugin we developed will also immediately update your entire social network about your new post. Letting your Twitter followers, LinkedIn network, Facebook Fans and more know about your new post.

The most important thing is that you get an action plan in place so your content is being indexed quickly. There is nothing worse that Google thinking your content is the duplicate.

JLM Merchandise – Surveillance, Security & Safety Solutions

So I created a new URL tonight and ran it through the PK gamut at about 9PM CT. I have a Google e-mail alert set up for my company name “JLM Merchandise” and I received an alert about my new URL at 9:39 PM CT. Being the inquisitive fellow that I am, I checked to see if the page was indexed. It was. It took 39 minutes to get a page indexed in Google. PK, how in the hell did you do that?

Geoff Lord

The Ping Kaching FaceBook Plug In ROCKS !!
Just downloaded the plugin, installed it in 3 Minutes flat, activated the Plug in, Entered my Log in details, tested the setting from the “check” button, wrote a post on my blog. hit the “submit post” and Bingo….5 minutes Later I invivited my Face book to check what was happening and BINGO again….the Blog post had been Automatically posted on my Facebook page and my twitter post…..

The whole thing was installed, a blog posted, and bookmarks appearing in less than 10 minutes from start to finish.

WOW…that will save me even more time guys !!! Brilliant

As 2012 rolled around it had sparked my interest in re-evaluating all my social networks. To see how old social networks are preforming and to check out new ones. To my surprise I had come across a site that had grown immensely since the last time I checked.

The popular micro blogging website, Tumblr, has seen a tremendous growth. Between 2010 and 2011 Tumblr saw a 172% growth in it’s audience size surpassing twitters growth of only 59%.

Tumblr now has over 8 billion, yes billion, page views a month! Oh, and if this wasn’t enough, the average time on Tumblr a user is spending came in at 81.6 minutes. This number isn’t as high as Facebook but does crush Twitters average time on site of only 24.4 minutes per day.

Near the end of 2011 Tumblr secured funding of $85 million dollars. So you can be sure the company has a long term growth plan and will continue to grow through 2012. This is definitely a social network you will want to include into your online campaign this year.

If you are a Ping Kaching customer the great news is that it’s very easy to incorporate the site into your online campaign. Ping Kaching can now submit to Tumblr inside the social status updater. Additionally, the new WordPress plugin PK has developed will automatically alert your Tumblr blog about any new blog posts added to your website. All you have to do is create a Tumblr account and enter the login information into Ping Kaching. (Additionally, you can contact our customer support team and have us do the work. Give us your username and we will create the account for you!)

Other top social networks to follow this year will be Google + and Pinterest. I suspect Google + will see some of the highest growths this year in new users but as for the end of 2011 they were only seeing average time on site of 5.4 minutes.

In 2012 I predict Pinterest will see a massive growth and will crush all other social media sites, except Facebook, for average time on site. Pinterest’s idea of a social media site focused on images is very captivating and is already seeing massive average time on site of 72.1 minutes.

So for your 2012 social media campaign I suggest you stick with your core blocks of LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook….but also consider adding in some new commers into your online campaign of Google +, Tumblr and Pinterest.

By the way, Ping Kaching submits to Tumblr, LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook already! As soon as Google+ supports Adobe Air and Pinterest releases their open API we will be including both of those sites into PK as well.

This year Google is already pushing out what will be their largest change to search that they have ever done. With such huge changes in effect it’s important for you, as a website owner, to be prepared and have a clear plan of action for 2012.

In this blog post I am not going to be talking about what the latest changes are or show you screen shots of the changes. There are a ton of other websites that have done this over the last day. Instead I am going to be sharing some unique insights on how I see these changes effecting your online business.

“Search has always brought you information from across the web. Now, search gets better by including photos, posts, and more from you and your friends. When signed in with Google+, you’ll find personal results and profiles of people you know or follow. You can even expand your world by discovering people related to your search.” -Google

Why SEO Is More Important Than Ever.

Let’s firstly examine what the new search results will turn up. When you do a search query the results are going to be far more tailored to you with information from your friends, shares from your social circles, etc.

New search results may include the following:

Listings from the web – (SEO based / Organic)
Listings tailored by your personal shares and actions
Listings shown because of your social connections
More Public Google+ profiles and posts
Photos shared on Picasa and Google+ by your social connections
Private, “Limited”, photos that you have shared or have been shared with you privately
Regular Photos off the web
YouTube Videos
AdWord Ads

As you can see the normal SEO results are going to be taking up far less of the search results page. However, does this mean SEO is less important? I would actually say this means SEO is MORE important than ever. It no longer is good enough to rank on page one for a keyword. Page one doesn’t mean anything anymore. What is important is ranking with in the top three positions for your keywords.

On any given search phrase there may only be three organic listings in the SERPs. The rest of the positions on page one of Google could all be taken up by a potential customers social influence. They may see results from their friends, photos their family shared and so on. Which means there aren’t ten slots for organic listings anymore. There may only be a very small handful of organic slots open on the first page of Google for various keyword phrases.

This means the real estate for the first page just got a whole lot smaller. It is more important than ever for you to push forward with your SEO campaigns getting your website into those coveted top three ranking spots. This will ensure that your website will be on the first page of Google no matter how big a potential customers social influence might be.

Let’s examine a few other reasons why SEO is still vitally important in 2012:

People who aren’t signed in:

Google’s customized search results is for people who are signed into their Google profile. Personally, this always applies to me as I am always signed into my Gmail account.

However, we shouldn’t forget about the millions of people who don’t have Google accounts or aren’t signed in. My very own brother hates Gmail, has no need for Google plus and doesn’t ever use a Google account. His search results will be primarily organic listings. He has no social influence for Google to pull from since he isn’t signed in. SEO and Adwords are the only two ways a website is going to reach people like him when he preforms search queries.

Additionally, we have to consider all the employees working at offices that do not allow them to be personally logged in to their Google accounts. I have a friend who is a purchaser at mid sized company. He is constantly doing searches on the internet for items for the office. Anything from batteries, office chairs, tools, software to huge purchases. All the searches he preforms on a daily basis are all SEO driven. He is not allowed to surf Facebook, Google+ or check his private Gmails at work. This means he is personally never signed in for a customized experience. SEO is still vital to reach the millions of people like him.

Lastly, I would consider the millions of people using smart phones who don’t use gmail. I have a second friend who has an iPhone but does not have a Gmail account or Google+ account. When they preform hundreds of searches they are not tied into any particular social network. All the results they find are SEO driven.

People With Small Social Networks:

I would say the people who are reading this blog, myself included, are a bit out of the ordinary when it comes to Social Media and Social Networks. People outside of the SEO and Website world, besides teenagers, will a lot of times have smaller social networks.

My Sister would be a great example of this. The last time I checked my sisters profile she had a whopping 42 friends. That’s the sum of her entire online social network. People like her are not going to see a very big change when it comes to their search results. From time to time she may preform a search where a few of her friends have shared something and she will have custom tailored result. However, the majority of her searches will be, you guessed it, SEO driven.

Way To Increase Your Market Leadership:

If a potential customer does a search for a product you happen to sell…they may see personalized results, from friends, for your competitors product. This potential customer is currently outside of your sphere of influence. If you didn’t use the SEO tactic you would miss out on this customer with no chance of having your website placed in front of them.

However, let’s say you rank on page one for an organic listing. This potential customer may see his friend Bob recommended your competitor and he may visit that site. However, this customer isn’t about to spend $100 on a product without a little research. So he goes back to the results page and looks for the next organic listing. If you used SEO on your website then this potential customer would now land on your page. If you had a better offer than your competitor this potential customer may decide to buy your product instead. Not only do they buy your product but they were so happy with your service that they actually click that Google +1 on your website.

With that simple act you reached this potential customer, but better than that you entered his sphere of influence. Next time this customers friend Bob searches for this product he will see your website pop up as well. Now you don’t only reach that one potential customer but it becomes a chain reaction increasing your sphere of influence and market leadership.

Through the use of SEO we can grow our influence and market leadership by reaching potential customers who may never of found us before. This brings me to my next point. That Market Leadership is becoming MORE important than it ever has in the online world.

Market Leadership.

Market Leadership has always been important in a business. Building relationships with your customers and being recognized as a industry leader has always helped sales. However, Market Leadership didn’t use to do anything for a company when it came to search results.

With Google’s new search features this has changed. Now a site with relatively poor SEO can still rank high on page one. A site simply needs to have a friends recommendation and the next time you do a search you will see that brand as recommended for you.

By connecting with your customer base and gaining their follows, likes and loyalty you will now automatically be connected to their social influence. Essentially, a single like from a well connected person could potentially increase your rankings for hundreds of other people when they search for a product you sell.

One Social Network Isn’t Enough.

Google’s latest update is called, “Search Plus, Your World” but probably a more appropriate title for it is “Search Plus, Google+”. Because no other major Social Network is working with Google’s latest changes. In fact Google is primarily only highlighting their other services they own such as Picasa, Google+, YouTube, etc..

This doesn’t however mean that you only need to focus your SEO and Market Leadership on Google owned products. That would be a critical mistake. It’s true Google + has become hugely important for SEO and traffic generation with Google’s latest changes.

However, the majority of your customers aren’t on Google + they are on Facebook. Also the popular search engine Bing is incorporating a similar personalized search result based off of Facebook likes not Google +1’s.

So Google and Facebook are critical to a successful SEO and Market Leadership campaign but so are the other top Social Networks like StumbleUpon and LinkedIn with over 100+million registered accounts….Not to mention Twitter, etc.

So to have a truly successful SEO and Market Leadership campaign we need be present in all the platforms our potential customers are hanging out at. This means maintaining a presence on several different locations at once. It almost seems impossible. Let’s look at how we can use a tool to accomplish this task and stay current with Google’s changes.

Using A Tool To Keep Up With Google Is A No Brainer.

It’s becoming more and more clear that there are just too many platforms, too many social networks and too many traffic sources for a company to keep track of. The simplest way to stay on top of it all and to keep up with Google’s latest changes is by using tools to help you. Ping Kaching can help you with all three of the major points we mentioned.
The software has powerful features such as RSS Distribution, Pinging, Directory Submission, etc. to assist you with your SEO efforts. Ping Kaching has been designed to help you increase your websites rankings so that you can reach not only the first page but that first position. Increasing your traffic, exposure and increasing your market leadership to customers who might have never saw you otherwise.

To think Ping Kaching is just an SEO tool though is dead wrong. Ping Kaching has powerful features to help you become a market leader. You can use Ping Kaching to update all your Social Networks from a single location. Simply enter a single message and it will be sent out to all the top Social Networks such as Tumblr, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook Fanpages and more! Not only that but the tool has a built in URL shortener with tracking. This feature will allow you to update your Social Status messages with a click of a button and actually be able to track how much traffic those sites generated. The tool will also connect you and your websites to the top Social Bookmarking sites such as StumbleUpon with over 10 million accounts.

Ping Kaching submits to the highest quality sites on the entire web. We don’t just throw in small social sites just to bolster our numbers. In fact we are against that very idea and only stick to the very top and well used social sites that have real traffic, real customers and real value. Ping Kaching submits to the very top social networks in the entire world period.

<TRY PING KACHING TODAY>

To top it all off we even have a WordPress plugin that can be installed on all your websites. Once this plugin is installed all your new posts will automatically be distributed to the very top Social Bookmarking sites, adding SEO value, and to all your Social Networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. Talk about an easy way to automatically engage your followers without any extra steps.

If you haven’ tried Ping Kaching in the last two months then now is the time to try the software. In fact I am so confident the software can help your business I will even offer you a full 45 day money back guarantee as well as offer you a 14 day trial for only a single dollar. I am taking all the risk because I am that confident you will like it.

-All the best this 2012

Welcome to the training page on how to use Ping Kaching’s powerful WordPress plugin. In the below video I will show you just what the Ping Kaching plugin can do for you…and how to get the most out of the plugin.

What the Ping Kaching Plugin Can Do For You:

Installing and Using the Plugin:

Notes.
1) Download the plugin onto your computer. WP Plugin Download Link

2) Make sure the plugin is in a zip format. Some Mac’s will automatically unzip the file. Be sure to re-compress the file before uploading it to your admin area of WordPress.

3) Prior to installing the plugin be sure your running version 3.2.1 or higher of WordPress.

4) When setting up the plugin be sure you enter your username, password and project name exactly as you do inside the Ping Kaching software. This is case sensitive and the “Check” button is also a requirement to click after entering the information.

Additional Notes*
A. If you are installing this plugin on a blog with auto posting then we recommend you set the bookmarking to 1. If you have several blog posts each day you do not want to over use your bookmarking accounts and get them banned.

B. If you write less often but are writing more high quality content on your blog then I would recommend using a higher number of bookmarks. You will want to drive as much traffic and authority to each blog post.

C. The Ping Kaching plugin does not handle Pinging on WordPress sites because WordPress can already handle Pinging automatically. Please see below on how you should properly set up Pinging.

D. The Ping Kaching Plugin does not handle the actual submissions. The plugin sends the submissions to the Ping Kaching application which should be running in your computers system tray. Simply minimize the Ping Kaching application to have the software run quietly in your system tray. We also recommend you set up the software so it automatically runs on startup. Below you will see a video on how to do that.

E. You can also goto the settings page under “PK Account Settings” and enable a small check box to auto login at startup. This will make it so it is no longer necessary to log into the application with the user name and password each time. This feature will make it easier to run the application on startup.

Setting Up The Application To Auto Run On Startup:

Version .50: “Invisible”

Welcome to version .50 of Ping Kaching! Arguably, one of the largest updates we have ever released. We just keep pushing the envelope with each update we do so that we can put Ping Kaching to work for you. (Hey that almost rhymed)

With version .50 Ping Kaching is becoming nearly invisible. You will be able to use the software a lot more often without actually having to do a single thing!

What we added in version .50:

Ping Kaching now has an “auto login” feature that you can enable in the settings page. This allows you to skip a step and auto login to your account without having to enter a username, password or clicking the login button. You can enable this feature by going to the Settings Page, then to PK Account Settings and clicking the, “Auto login at startup?” check box.

The second change we added to Ping Kaching was the ability for the software to run in the system tray. Once the software opens, simply click the minimize button and the software will quietly run behind the scenes in your computers back ground. It will hardly take up any processing power or bandwidth but the effect is quite impressive. With this update the software can be constantly listening to the Ping Kaching server looking for any new pages you may have added to any of your projects. This new feature mixed with our next feature make a major improvement.

The third feature we added is actually not inside the Ping Kaching software but is instead a whole new bit of code. We have developed our first ever WordPress plugin! If you have a WordPress blog or a website built on the WordPress platform then you can use our new WordPress plugin to greatly help your site. With the Ping Kaching WordPress plugin installed all your new blog posts and pages will automatically be sent over to Ping Kaching running on your computer and all submissions will quitely be run in the back ground. This will allow for Ping Kaching to be a completley hands free operation for all your new blog posts! Gone are the days of having to copy and paste in URLs, entering in titles, descriptions, clicking buttons, etc. The entire process is now behind the scenes. With each new blog post you will get the benefit of Social Bookmarking, fast indexing, authority, traffic potential, updating your social networks, etc.

The last feature we have added to Ping Kaching is the ability to quickly update your Social Networks and Shorten URLs. Simply Right click the PK icon in your task bar or Dock and you can jump straight to features without all the heavy navigation. Updating your entire Social Network has never been this easy!

Instructions for this update:

**Note: With this WordPress plugin and the ability for the software to run in the background it is no longer mandatory for you to enter any of your blog posts into the software once you have successfully set up the process. However, it is still CRUCIAL you use Ping Kaching on ALL back links you build! The majority of the back links we build are NEVER indexed. So be sure you are still inputing those Ezine articles, HubPages, Lenses, etc. into PK. You want to drive authority and have those back links indexed.

All submissions will take place roughly 15 minutes after you make your WordPress post. Ping Kaching waits to make sure you are happy with your blog post before submissions are made. Drafts will not be submitted and only final posts. If you make a final post and PK runs it’s submissions you can still go back and edit a post. You are NEVER locked into anything. This time delay is there only to help assist getting your content finalized before the world is shown your new work! ;)

In order for Ping Kaching to run behind the scenes on your computer it’s important to have the software running as often as possible. There is no need to leave your computer on overnight or leave it on any longer than you normally would. However, if your computer is on then it’s a good idea to have Ping Kaching quietly running in the background. To do that, simply select for the software to automatically start on boot up. Below is two video’s for Mac users and Windows users on how to achieve this.

To download the WordPress plugin for Ping Kaching, simply click the download link inside the software under the “Your Stats” box on the “Dashboard”.

For installation instructions and more detailed information about the WordPress plugin please visit our WordPress plugin training area: HERE

The last iteration we have been working on has been massive for us here at Ping Kaching! We entered a whole new world with the software in developing a WordPress plugin. Developing the WordPress plugin was a new experience for us and could have been quite a task if that’s all we did!

However, we raised the bar a whole lot higher than that and turned PK into a fully automated system for indexing, driving authority and connecting your website to your social network!

I can’t wait to take this new version live for all our customers and we will be releasing it later this week after we do a bit more testing.

This blog post was written in order to test PK’s very first “live” test run of the WP plugin in action!

Check out what Matt Cutts recently said in a video:

“We noticed a while ago that, if you look at the PageRank of a page – how reputable we think a particular page or site is – the ability to spell correlates relatively well with that. So, the reputable sites tend to spell better and the sites that are lower PageRank, or very low PageRank, tend not to spell as well.”

In my opinion, Google is going to be moving towards quality more and more. Cracking down on well written, formatted and spelled correctly material. Additionally, on October 5th Matt Cutts announced there is going to be another flux in Google’s Panda update. (And we thought the Panda had already did it’s damage??) This new update won’t be as large of an impact as the previous Panda updates but expect to see some changes in the search algorithms in the next few weeks.

I personally don’t expect that Google will be actively using spelling and grammar as ranking factors this month or even next month. However, I do believe the update is on it’s way and will hit us sooner or later. My anticipation is for the first part of 2012 but only time will tell. In the mean time something is very clear. With the Panda Update we saw entire websites taking hits for just a handful of bad pages. What this means to me is that I will need to hire someone to go back through my old blog pages and slowly start fixing those spelling and grammar mistakes. So when the time does come that Google flips the switch and makes these changes live my sites will be ready.
